The Town participates in a Medical Expense Reimbursement Program (MERP) where covered employees can submit their qualifying deductible expenses for reimbursement.
All Full-Time employees are also offered the option to participate in both health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts that provide a way to save federal, state and social security taxes on eligible medical and dependent care expenses. Employees choose an amount to be withheld from their pay checks before taxes are applied, up to annual IRS maximums.

The Town of Hope Mills sponsors 401(k), Roth 401(k), and 457 plans for employees to save for their retirement. The Town currently makes a 5% contribution for all eligible employees.
NC Local Government Employees’ Retirement System (LGERS)
Each regular full-time employee is required to join the N.C. Local Government Employees’ Retirement System as a condition of employment starting the first day of employment. A 6% employee contribution is deducted from pay for the retirement plan. An employee becomes vested in the retirement plan after five years of creditable service.
The North Carolina Department of State Treasurer created ORBIT (Online Retirement Benefits through Integrated Technology) to allow members convenient access to their retirement account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This secure site enables you to view your personal information, account information, and other relevant details specific to your retirement system account.

The Town of Hope Mills provides a valuable benefit to all employees and their immediate family members known as the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP offers assistance for personal and/or professional concerns by providing free, confidential, short-term counseling and personal consultation. There is no individual login or registration needed to take part in the EAP.

As part of the Employee Assistance Program, employees are eligible for additional resources such as shopping discounts, online savings programs, as well as live and recorded training programs through Perks at Work. Individual registration and verification of employment is required to take part in this program.

As the Town requires direct deposit for employee payroll, employees may want to take advantage of credit union membership through the NC Local Government Employees' Credit Union. All employees have the option of joining the N.C. Local Government Employees' Credit Union. In order to retain membership in the Credit Union, employees must have a minimum of $25 on deposit.
