Traffic Unit

9072010 731It is the mission of the Hope Mills Police Traffic Unit to promote expeditious traffic flow that enhances traffic safety for all residents of, and visitors to, the Town of Hope Mills through vigorous enforcement of town and NC motor vehicular laws.

The Traffic Unit functions include traffic law enforcement; collision prevention and investigation; impaired driver enforcement; traffic control at special functions, parades and for visiting dignitaries; responding to high priority patrol calls when available; community traffic complaint investigations; and community functions such as speaking to driver education classes, promoting the use of vehicle child restraints, and other traffic related training.

K9 Officer

The Hope Mills Police Department currently has one canine and is assigned and works on the traffic unit. This skilled officer and K9 “Boo” receives continuous training which allows them to assist patrol officers to find criminal suspects, search buildings and open areas, track suspects that have fled from a crime scene and locate any evidence that a suspect leaves behind.
