The Atlantic Hurricane Season is the period in a year, from June 1st through November 30th, when tropical or subtropical cyclones are most likely to form in the North Atlantic Ocean. Historically, the peak timeframe for hurricanes is from Mid-August through late October each year.
With Cumberland County approximately 100 miles from the coast, we can expect some type of impact from a hurricane depending on the size and strength.
